Just one stamp set

Woensdagavond is stempelavond voor de Art Journey-dames die in of vlakbij Sleen wonen. Wij (Louise, Liesbeth, Jeanette, Joke en ik zei de gek) stempelen dan gezellig een eind weg, onder het genot van koffie, thee en een hoop flauwekul. Laatst hebben we allemaal dezelfde stempelset "Aunts" en kleurencombi gebruikt om elk een kaart te maken.

Wednesday evening is stamping evening for the Art Journey ladies who live in or nearby the village of Sleen, where the shop is located. We (Louise, Liesbeth, Jeanette, Joke and I) stamp, drink tea or coffee and have fun. A few weeks ago we all used the same Art Journey stamp set "Aunts" and a given colour scheme to make a card.

Ik stempelde de dame in zwart, maskerde de dame en daarna stempelde ik haar in diverse kleuren  eromheen.
I stamped the lady in black, masked just the lady and stamped her again in different colours around her.

AJC # 43: Colourful Birthdays

Anette heeft op het blog van het Art Journey designteam het nieuwe thema bekend gemaakt voor de challenge van maart: Colourful Birthdays. Zijzelf en haar dochter vieren binnen een week beiden een bijzondere verjaardag: Anette wordt 50 en haar dochter Floor 18 jaar! Genoeg redenen om kleurrijke verjaardagskaarten te maken dus!

On the Art Journey designteam blog Anette announced the new theme for the March challenge: Colourful Birthdays. Anette and her daughter Floor celebrate special birthdays within one week from each other: Anette turns 50 and Floor 18! That must be enough reason to make some colourful birthday cards!

Op het blog van het designteam zie je alle voorbeelden die de teamleden hebben gemaakt. Daar kun je ook de voorwaarden lezen en je kaart uploaden om mee te dingen naar een prijs.

Dit zijn mijn kaarten. De eerste begon met een gelli print, waarna veel lagen verf volgden. De tweede is gesponsd en gestempeld met distress inkt.
These are my cards. The first one started with a gelli print, and lots of added layers of paint. The second one is sponged and stamped with distress ink.

Altered jar

Ik vond het zo leuk dat we laatst onder leiding van Loekie Flentge een ladenkastje hebben gemaakt (klik hier voor het blogbericht), dat ik thuis met dezelfde techniek aan de slag ben gegaan.
I realy enjoyed Loekie Flentge's workshop a few weeks ago, where we made a little dresser (click here for the blogpost). I decorated another item with the same technique.

Met tissuepapier uit een schoenendoos, lijm, verf, een paar stempels en veel spullen uit mijn rommeldoos decoreerde ik een eenvoudig glazen potje, 9 cm hoog.
With tissue paper (from a shoe box), glue, paint, a few stamps and lots of stuff from my junk box I decorated a humble glass jar, 9 cm (3,5") high.

Voordeel van deze techniek is dat je ook plastic tandwielen kunt gebruiken, zoals hierboven. Ze worden toch bedekt met gesso en verf. (tekst: Art Journey)

Tot slot een laagje Viva Inka Gold Copper aangebracht. Helaas is de glans niet helemaal goed te zien op de foto's, maar het is er wel degelijk! De metalen onderdelen met alcohol-inkt gekleurd.

I finished it with Viva Inka Gold Copper.Unfortnately the shine doen't show up too well in the photos, but it is definitely there! The metal parts were coloured with alcohol inks.

Het glas van het zakhorloge is een echt brillenglas.

The glass on the pocket watch is real spectacle glass.

Art Journey Challenge #42: 75% wit

Afgelopen zaterdag ging een nieuwe Art Journey challenge van start. Anneke mocht het thema bedenken. Het werd: 75 % wit. Laat je kaart voor 75% wit, en gebruik hoofdzakelijk Art Journey stempels. Op het blog van het Art Journey designteam lees je er hier alles over. Uiterlijk 27 februari moet je project geplaatst zijn. Je kunt een Art Journeybon van € 10,- winnen!

Last saturday a new Art Journey challenge was launched. Anneke chose this month's theme: 75% white. Your card must be for 75% wite, and use mainly Art Journey stamps. On the designteam blog you can read about it here. You have until 27 February to place your project. A randomly chosen participant wins a € 10,- gift certificate!

Dit is mijn bijdrage. Als je een regelmatige bezoeker bent hier, dan weet je dat het ook voor mij een echte uitdaging was! Het was goed om eens iets heel anders te maken, om eens buiten mijn "comfort zone" te treden.
This is my card. When you visit my blog regularly, you know that this challenge was for me a challenge as well! It was good to make something different and step out of my "comfort zone".

Bloem van restjes

Op mijn Pinterest bord "Fabric" had ik ooit iets gepind over bloemen maken van stof. Dit is de bloem die ik maakte, vanaf dit idee: klik

Het is gemaakt van restjes jeans, draadjes, kantjes en organza stof.
It is made from scraps of jeans, threads, lace and organza.

De jeans bloemen zijn gestanst met Tattered Florals van Tim Holtz.
I die cut the flowers with the Tattered Florals die by Tim Holz.

Wanneer ik dat jasje draag, draag ik ook de bloem, anders vindt ik het zo kaal ;)
Whenever I wear this jeans jacket, I wear the flower, otherwise I think it looks so "empty" ;)

Steampunk kastje

Afgelopen zondag maakte het Art Journey team onder leiding van Loekie Flentge een geweldig leuk kastje. Dit is mijn exemplaar:
Last sunday the members of the Art Journey team made this awesome little cabinet. The workshop was hosted by Loekie Flentge. This is my cabinet:

De basis bestaat uit acht luciferdoosjes en het is versierd met allerlei ijzerwaren.
The base consists of eight match boxes and it is decorated with all kinds of hardware.

Het was een geweldig leuke workshop. Heb al weer nieuwe ideeën met deze techniek!
I really enjoyed the workshop and went home with lots of ideas!

Godelieve heeft voor de Art Journey-challenge van deze maand een mooi thema bedacht: scraplings. Dat zijn erg smalle, hoge kaartjes die prima te gebruiken zijn als cadeau-label of boekenlegger. Lees er hier alles over.
