Nieuwe stempels bij Art Journey, hoera! En deze leuke bloemen zijn zó veelzijdig, ik zal het de komende tijd laten zien, hier en op het Art Journey blog. Ook de andere teamleden hebben al prachtige voorbeelden gemaakt. Ga maar gauw kijken op ons blog!

New Art Journey stamps, yes! And these new flower stamps are só versatile, as I will show you here and on the Art Journey blog. The other team members have also made great examples for you. Go check it out on the blog!

Vandaag begin ik met deze twee rustige, maar kleurrijke kaartjes.

I would like to start with showing you these two peaceful, yet colourful cards. 

 Dit zijn "snel klaar" kaartjes, met een mini gelli plate, een paar kleurtjes distress inkt en de nieuwe stempels. Op het designteam blog kun je zien welke stempels ik naast de Wild Flowers gebruikt heb.

These are my "quick makes", with a mini gelli plate, some distress inks and the new stamps. On the design team blog you can see the other stamps I used on these cards.

Reindeer canvas

Met de leuke template van het rendier uit Craft Stamper magazine december 2015 maakte ik een aantal canvasjes van 20 x 20 cm.

The cute reindeer template in Craft Stamper magazine (december 2015) inspired me to make two small canvases. They measure 20 x 20 cm.

De basis is een gelli print op "schoenendoospapier". Dit is erg dun en kreukelig en daardoor kun je prachtige prints met diepte maken. Ik plakte dit met gel medium op mijn canvas. Onderaan het canvas kwam een "besneeuwd bergje" van muziekpapier, dat ik met verf wit gemaakt had. Het rendier is uit een crackerdoos geknipt en bewerkt met templates en pasta en diverse inkten.

The base is a gelli print made on "shoe box paper". It is very thin and crackly, so you can make beautiful prints with lots of depth on them. I gued it onto my canas with gel medium. At the bottom I glued some music paper, that was painted with white paint. The reindeer itself was cut out of a cracker box and decorated with templates and paste and various inks.

Dit "verouderde" rendier ontstond toevallig. Ik had de andere zijde gekleurd met bruine verf en inkt, maar toen ik klaar was, was de achterkant licht besmeurd met restjes van de inkt en verf. Het zag er prachtig uit, dus dat moest de voorkant maar worden!

This "aged" reindier was a happy accident. I coloured the other side with paint and ink, but when finished I noticed that the back was lightly coloured with the inks and paints. I liked it better than the dark one, so here the back became the front!

Ik heb veel lol gehad aan het maken van deze eenvoudige canvasjes. Ze staan nu te pronken in de kamer.

I really enjoyed making these easy-to-make canvases, and now they're on display in our living room.

Peacock on gelli print

Dit is weer een van mijn gelli printjes als basis voor een kaart. Het is een print uit een vorige post (klik hier). Op de gelliprint heb ik gestempeld (tekst, swirl en kwasten) en boekpapier geplakt.

De pauw stempelde ik op vloeipapier en op de achterkant heb ik deze ingekleurd met acrylverf. daarna witte verf over de acrylverf gedaan, zodat de gelliprint ondergrond niet doorschijnt als je de afbeelding opplakt.

This is one of may gelli prints as a base for my card. It is a print from a previous post (click here). I stamped text, swirls and brushes on the print and I glued on some book paper.
I stamped the peacock on delipaper and I coloured it with acryllic paint on the back side. On top of the colours I put white paint, so the gelli print background doesn't shine through.

Ik heb de kaart afgewerkt met een laagje gel medium. Hierdoor is het minder kwetsbaar en het geeft eenheid en glans aan het geheel.

I finished the card with a layer of gel medium. It makes it a bit sturdier and gives a shine.

gelli plate cards

Wat heerlijk is het toch om met de gelli plate prints te maken! Ik maakte nog twee kaarten met een gelli print achtergrond:

It's great to make prints with my gelli plate! I made two more cards with a gelli plate background: 

Op bovenstaande kaarten heb ik met witte (en zwarte) verf en een stencil wat extra details aangebracht.

On the cards above I use white (and black) pain to add some extra detail.


Uit een vel wit papier sneed ik twee vierkanten in formaten die op een kaart toepasbaar zijn: 12,5 cm vierkant en 9,5 x 13,8 cm. Nu heb ik twee zoekers, die leg ik op mijn print, waardoor ik kan zien hoe mijn gelli print er op een kaart uit ziet.

Out of a piece of cardstock I cut two card sizes: one 12,5 cm square, one 9,5 x 13,8 cm. I can lay them on my print and search for interesting backgrounds for cards.

De kaart die ik maakte met dit uitgesneden stuk (rechts) zal ik later laten zien.

I will show you the card I made with the cut out piece on the right later.

Hello bird!

Uit de stapel gelli prints zocht ik er een met verschillende kleuren. Een geschikt stuk er uitgesneden, dat werd de basis voor deze kaart. Het is lente, en deze vogels kennen elkaar nog niet. Zijn het nieuwe buren?

From my pile of gelli prints I got one with various colours. A piece from it became the base for this card. It is spring, and these birds haven't met yet. A new neighbour, perhaps?

AJC #55: Alles behalve zwart/ Any colour but black

De nieuwe Art Journey challenge wordt een kleurrijke! Het was mijn beurt om een onderwerp voor de challenge te bedenken en ik koos: alles behalve zwart. Gebruik geen zwart in je creatie, er zijn zoveel andere kleuren! Je leest er alles over op het designteamblog. Daar kun je ook zien wat de andere designteam leden maakten. Doe je mee?

The new Art Journey challenge is going to be a colourful one. It is my turn to host the challenge and I chose: any colour but black. Do not use black in your creation, there are so many beautiful colours! You can read all about it on the designteam blog. You can also see what the other design team members made. Do you join in?

New stamps!

Art Journey heeft weer een nieuwe stempel-set uitgebracht: stoere laarzen en bijpassende tekst. Ze heten Ben's Boots, en dat zijn het ook, de laarzen van Ben. Hiermee maakte ik onderstaande tags.

Art Journey's released a new stamp set: worker's boots and a matchting text. They are called Ben's Boots, and that is exactly what they are. I made two tags with these stamps.

Er lagen nog twee identieke gelli print tags in mijn la en die waren zeer geschikt voor mijn tags. Ik stempelde en plakte erop en zette de randen van het boekpapier aan met zwarte en bruine aquarelpotlood.

There were two identical gelli printed tags in my stash and they were a perfect start for my tags. I stamped on them and glued piece of book paper and edged the torn edges of the book pages with black and brown watercolour pencil.

Meer Art Journey mixed media

Oh, wat geniet ik van het huidige Art Journey thema Mixed Media.  Eindelijk kom ik er toe om mijn gelli printjes te gebruiken die ik tot nu toe op een grote stapel heb liggen. Je hebt gelijk een basis om op verder te gaan, zo leuk!

Oh, I really enjoy this month's Art Journey theme Mixed Media. Now I am using my gelli prints that are piling up. They're a great base to work on!

Ik stempelde de vissen op een oranje gelli print en heb ze een beetje extra gekleurd met Inktense potloden en wat Inka Gold Copper voor een mooie gloed. Ik plakte ze op een blauw-groene gelli print. Voor extra zeebodemgevoel stempelde ik eerst nog op de achtergrond.

I stamped the fish on an orange gelli print and coloured them a little with Inktense pencils. I gave the fish some glow with Inka Gold Copper. I glued the fish onto a blue-green gelli print.  For a more "bottom-of-the-see" feeling I stamped on the background first.

Met een witte en een zwarte Posca acrylverf-pen wat details op de vissen en de luchtbellen getekend.
With a white and a black Posca acryllic marker I drew some accents on the fish and the air bubbles.

Hoera!

Met de Christmas Stars van Art Journey maakte ik deze keer geen kerstkaart, maar een snelklaar felicitatie-kaart.
With the Christmas Stars by Art Journey I did not make a Christmas card this time, but a quick birthday card.

Ik stempelde sterren op restjes van gelli-prints (heb er stapels!). Hiervoor gebruikte ik Stazon in kleur, dat pakt goed op de acrlverf. Voor de ondergrond gebruikte ik Distress inkt Pumice Stone.

I stamped the stars on scraps of gelli prints (I have lots!). I used Stazon colours for this, it works great on the acryllic paint. For the background I used distess ink Pumice Stone.

Stoere verjaardagskaart

Mijn neefje is in april 10 jaar geworden en dat vroeg om een stoere kaart. Het is al een tijdje terug, maar ik kan hem toch nog wel laten zien?

My nephew turned 10 in April and that calls for a real boys card. Is it too late to show it here? Don't think so :)

De achtergrond is een gelli print, met daarover veel verschillende stempels. De sneakers zijn van The Artistic Stamper, een Engels stempelmerk.

AJC # 43: Colourful Birthdays

Anette heeft op het blog van het Art Journey designteam het nieuwe thema bekend gemaakt voor de challenge van maart: Colourful Birthdays. Zijzelf en haar dochter vieren binnen een week beiden een bijzondere verjaardag: Anette wordt 50 en haar dochter Floor 18 jaar! Genoeg redenen om kleurrijke verjaardagskaarten te maken dus!

On the Art Journey designteam blog Anette announced the new theme for the March challenge: Colourful Birthdays. Anette and her daughter Floor celebrate special birthdays within one week from each other: Anette turns 50 and Floor 18! That must be enough reason to make some colourful birthday cards!

Op het blog van het designteam zie je alle voorbeelden die de teamleden hebben gemaakt. Daar kun je ook de voorwaarden lezen en je kaart uploaden om mee te dingen naar een prijs.

Dit zijn mijn kaarten. De eerste begon met een gelli print, waarna veel lagen verf volgden. De tweede is gesponsd en gestempeld met distress inkt.
These are my cards. The first one started with a gelli print, and lots of added layers of paint. The second one is sponged and stamped with distress ink.

Birthday card

Hallo en welkom hier. Ik wil iedereen hartelijk bedanken voor de leuke reacties na mijn aankondiging dat ik in het DT van Craft Stamper kom. Wat een leuke verrassing om al die reacties te krijgen, en niet alleen hier op mijn blog, super! Het maakt me wel wat nerveus, moet ik zeggen, maar ik heb er erg veel zin in!

Hello and welcome here on my blog. I want to thank you all for your nice comments on my announcement that I am going to be part of the Craft Stamper DT. What a nice surprise to get all those lovely reactions, and not only here on my blog, awesome! It's making me a bit nervous, but I'm looking forward to it!

Langs de rand en langs het meisje schreef ik een speciale verjaardagswens.
I wrote a special birthday wish along the edge of the card and round the girl.

Doll tag

Dit is een heel grote tag, bijna 22 cm hoog. En met die grote stempels van Prima moet dat ook wel. De achtergrond is een gelli print, aangevuld met stempels, verf en templates. Het jurkje en het haar zijn ook gelli prints.
This is a large tag, almost 22 cm high. It has to be, when you use such a large doll stamp from Prima. The background is a gelli print, and I added stamping, paint and used templates. The dress and hair are also gelli prints.

De tekst is van Kaisercraft, gekocht bij Art Journey. The text is from Kaisercraft, I bought it at Art Journey's.

Art Journey challenge # 38: ATC

Op de blog van het Art Journey designteam is weer een nieuwe challenge van start gegaan. Deze maand is de opdracht: maak een atc. Voorwaarde is natuurlijk wel dat je Art Journey-stempels gebruikt. Kijk gauw op de blog van het designteam voor de regels en doe mee! Uit de deelnemers wordt een willekeurige winnaar getrokken die een Art Journey tegoedbon van € 10,-wint.

On the Art Journey design team blog a new challenge has started. This month the challenge is to make an atc-card. The main rule is to use Art Journey stamps. De achtergrondjes zijn gelli prints. De prints zijn bestempeld in bijpassende kleuren inkt. Om het een geheel te laten worden heb ik overal de cirkel in zwart terug laten komen.

The backgrounds are all gelli prints. The prints are overstamped with matching colours. To unify the atc-cards I used the circle stamp in black on all of them.

Alweer gepubliceerd/ Published again!

Wat ben ik een geluksvogel: dit jaar al voor de tweede keer in de Craft Stamper! Naar aanleiding van een blogbericht van mij in april dit jaar over Gelli printing met tijdschrift-knipsels (zie hier) mocht ik een heel artikel schrijven over dit onderwerp. In het oktobernummer, dat pas uit is, staat het er in.

I am so lucky: for the second time this year I have been published in Craft Stamper Magazine! In april this year I posted about my Gelli printing with magazine cut-outs (click here), and CS asked me to do an article about it. It is published in the october issue, which is out now.

Kleine huisjes/ Little houses

Terug van weggeweest en nieuwe inspiratie opgedaan. Het was tijd om eens iets anders te proberen en hieronder het resultaat:
Back home again and inspired to make new things. It was time to try something different and this is the result:

De achtergrond met de Gelli Plate gemaakt, de voorgrond van een bladzijde uit een boek, ingekleurd met distress inkt (door sponsen) en getekend zwarte en witte pen. Er is geen stempel aan te pas gekomen!

The background was made with my Gelli Plate, the houses from a page out of a book, coloured with distress ink (by sponging) and drawn with a black and a white pen. No stamping on this card!

Een beetje schaduw toegevoegd rond de huisjes, raampjes en deurtjes met aquarelpotloden (rood, oranje, zwart) en een waterkwastje voor wat diepte.

I added a little shadow around the houses, windows and doors with watercolour pencils (red, orange, black) and a waterbrush  to ceate some depth.

Gelli plate kaart en tags

Ik heb nog weer met mijn gelli plate ge-experimenteerd. Ik bedenk weer iets of wil ik weer iets proberen wat ik op het www heb gezien. Ik maakte deze kaart, waarbij ik onder meer gebruik maakte van uitgeknipte silhouetten uit een tijdschrift.

I have been experimenting with my gelli plate again.   I think of something new or I want to try something I saw on the internet. I made this card, and for the silhouettes I used cut out images from a magazine.

Ik maakte ook deze wijnfles tags.
I also made these wine bottle tags.

 Het blijft leuk om verschillende dingen te proberen met de gelli plate!
I am having so much fun playing with my gelli plate!

Gelli plate kaarten/ cards

Met mijn gelli plate heb ik inmiddels nieuwe afdrukken gemaakt. Hieronder zie je wat kaartjes die er mee zijn gemaakt.

With my gelli plate I have made new prints. Below some cards I made with them.

Bovenstaande kaart is voor mijn kleine zusje, die onlangs 40 werd, maar nog steeds meisje blijft :). De stempels zijn van Art Journey (Words, Pages en Numbers).

The card above is for my little sister, who turned 40 recently, but still remains a girl :). The stamps are from Art Journey (Words, Pages, Numbers)

Op deze kaart gebruikte ik een golfjes schaar om een randje te knippen, waarmee ik over de verf op de gelli plate ging. De kleine stippen en de cijfers zijn gemaakt met templates.

On this card I used paper I cut with decorative scissors to make the lines in the paint. The little dots and numbers are done with templates.

Ik gebruik zelfs het papier waarop ik mijn rollertje schoonveeg. Het geeft een grungy effect met al die lagen over elkaar, helemaal nadat ik er de zwarte afdruk van de "Graffiti Art" op plaatste. Het mannetje van Stampotique past er prima bij:

I even use the paper I use to roll off my brayer. It gives a grungy effect, all those layers, especially after stamping the "Graffiti Art" stamp on top and adding the Stampotique guy:

De oranje en groen stempelafdrukken zijn van "Grunge", een Art Journey set.
Ik gebruikte de "Graffity Art" stempel eerder al op deze kaart (klik hier), maar toen in kleur. Wat een ander effect he?
 
The orange and green prints are from the set "Grunge" from Art Journey.
I used the "Graffiti Art" stamp before on this card (click here) but then in colour. The effect is totally different.

My first Gelli Plate project

Hallo,

Op de AS beurs in Zeist heb ik een gelli plate gekocht. Natuurlijk moest ik er direct mee aan het werk. Op diverse filmpjes op You Tube zag ik mensen met STAPELS monoprints, waar ze niets mee doen. Ik heb mezelf gedwongen ook iets te maken met de prints die ik maakte, want ik wilde geen stapels ongebruikte monoprints in de kast. Dit zijn kaartjes met mijn eerste monoprints, het idee met het silhouet zag ik opYou Tube:

At the Art Specially show in Zeist I bought a gelli plate. Of course I had to work with it straight away. On various films on You Tube I saw people with LOADS of monoprints, without using them. I forced myself to use mine, because I did not want loads of unused prints in my drawers. These are cards I made with my first monoprints, I got the idea with the silhouette from You Tube:

Nadat de print klaar was heb ik het silhouet weer gemaskerd, de achtergrond gestempeld met bubbeltjesplastic met witte verf en het silhouet geschaduwd met zwarte inkt door te sponsen. De tekststempel is een kadootje van de AS beurs.

After the printing I masked the silhoutte, stamped the background with bubblewrap in white paint and created a shadow around the figure with black ink and a sponge. The text stamp is an entry gift from the Art Specially show.

Het was leuk om te doen, ook mijn dochter mocht al even proberen. Wanneer haar project klaar is, zal ik het laten zien.

I had lots of fun, and even my doughter had a go. When her project is finished, I will show it on my blog.

Hier een paar van mijn eerste prints, op simpel A4 print-papier, gemaakt met de gelli plate, acrylverf, een plaatje uit een tijdschrift (je herkent haar misschien wel op het plaatje: Angela Groothuizen) en wat ander gereedschap.

These are a few of my first prints, made on A4 copier paper, made with my gelli plate, acrylic paint, a picture from a magazine ( If you don't know her: she is a dutch singer and member of The Voice jury, Angela Groothuizen) and a few other tools.

Binnenkort laat ik meer monoprint projecten zien.
