Brusho en bister kaarten

Met de brusho en de bister-korrels maakte ik een aantal kaarten, alle met de Jofy-stempels van Paper Artsy. De tekst is van Art Specially, het was een van de entree cadeautjes van de beurs in 2013.

With the brusho and bister powders I made some cards, all with Jofy stamps from Paper Artsy. The text is from Art Specially, it was one of the entry gifts from the stamp show in 2013.

Ik strooide eerst lichtjes de bister (hierboven) op het papier en sproeide het lichtjes nat. Het geeft een prachtig effect, dat ik mooier vindt dan met veel water. Ik gebruikte hier gele en blauwe bister, mijn favoriete kleuren. De kaarten hieronder zijn gemaakt met brusho.

First I put on a little bit of bister (above) on the paper and lightly misted with water. It gives a nice effect, I like it much better than with lots of water. I used yellow and blue bister here, my favourite colours. The cards below are all made with brushos.

Ik stempelde de afbeeldingen en combineerde verschillende stempellappen. De afbeeldingen zijn ingekleurd met Derwent Inktense potloden en met water bewerkt.

I stamped the images on top and combined several stamp sets. The images were coloured in with Derwent Inktense pencils and a water brush.

De witte accenten op de bloemen, vlinders en vogel zijn gemaakt met een witte Posca paint marker.

The white accents on the flowers, butterflies and bird were made with a white Posca paint marker.

AJC #55: Alles behalve zwart/ Any colour but black

De nieuwe Art Journey challenge wordt een kleurrijke! Het was mijn beurt om een onderwerp voor de challenge te bedenken en ik koos: alles behalve zwart. Gebruik geen zwart in je creatie, er zijn zoveel andere kleuren! Je leest er alles over op het designteamblog. Daar kun je ook zien wat de andere designteam leden maakten. Doe je mee?

The new Art Journey challenge is going to be a colourful one. It is my turn to host the challenge and I chose: any colour but black. Boots en Stars

Had ik al gezegd dat Ben's Boots van Art Journey een van mijn nieuwe favoriete stempels is? Deze keer combineerde ik ze met de Stars (ook van Art Journey), die ik op boekpapier heb afgedrukt en uitgeknipt.

Have I mentioned that I really love the new Art Journey stamp set Ben's Boots? This time I combined them with Art Journey's Stars, which I stamped on book paper and cut out.

De achtergrond is een gelliprint die ik verder heb aangekleed met stempelwerk en gesponste rondjes. Voordat ik de laarzen stempelde, maakte ik eerst een wittige vlek met gesso. Zo vallen de laarzen wat meer op.

The background is a gelliprint on which I stamped and added paint through sequin waste.  Before I stamped the boots I made white space with gesso. The boots stand out more against the background this way.

Brusho atc

Ik kreeg van mijn zusje zes kleurtjes brusho (is het geen schat!?). Het zijn prachtige heldere kleuren pigmentpoeder.  Met drie ervan maakte ik deze atc. Het is mijn eerste project met dit leuke spul.

My sister gave me six colours of brusho pigment chrystals (she's the sweetest!). They are great vivid colours of pigment powder. With three of the colours I made this atc card. It is my first try with this medium.

Drie technieken zijn hierop gebruikt:
- de achtergrond maakte ik door brusho heel zuinig te strooien en daarna met een mister nat te maken.
- de tulpen kleurde ik met een wash van brusho / water.
- de rode spetters zijn gemaakt door te tikken met een natte kwast met het brushowater van de tulpen.

I used three different techniques on this little card:
- the background was made by very subtly putting bits of brusho and then wet it with a mini mister.
- I coloured the tulips with a wash of brusho water.
- the red droplets were made by flicking with a damp brush and the brusho wash.

Je kunt goed zien dat de oranje bestaat uit componenten geel en rood (geen verrassing natuurlijk, haha). Blauw en rood geven geen andere "bijkleuren".

You can see that orange breaks apart into yellow and red (that's no surprise, hehe). Blue and red remain unchanged.

Een bisterachtergrondje in mijn favoriete kleur en een van mijn nieuwe favoriete stempels: Ben's Boots van Art Journey.

AJC #54: Slingers/ Curly lines

Op het design team blog van Art Journey is weer een nieuwe challenge van start gegaan. Dit keer was Anneke aan de beurt om een onderwerp te kiezen. Het werd: Slingers. Gebruik slingers op je kaart, maakt niet uit hoe. De teamleden hebben weer hun best gedaan om  mooie voorbeelden te maken. Doe je ook mee deze keer? Dat vinden we leuk!

On the design team blog a new challenge is going on. It was Anneke's turn to think of a theme. She chose: Curly lines. Use curls on your card, it doesn't matter how. The team members have made great examples to boost your inspiration. Do you join? We would like that!

Dit zijn mijn bijdragen. De slingers werden golflijnen. Ik knipte een stuk papier in een golflijn en gebruikte dat om lijnen te sponsen op beide kaarten.

These are my cards. The curls became wavy lines. I cut a wavy line from a piece of paper and usd that to sponge the lines on both cards.

De heuvels gesponst met distress Tumbled Glass. Met grijze Stazon (Cloudy Sky) de bomen en de takken gestempeld met het masker op zijn plek, zodat de bomen deels achter de heuvels liggen. De lucht is met Chipped Sapphire gedaan met een cirkel-masker voor de maan. Sneeuw op de takken gemaakt met witte marker.

The hills were sponged with distress Tumbled Glass. With the mask in place, I stamped the trees and branches with grey Stazon (Cloudy Sky). The sky was done with Chipped Sapphire. I used a round mask for the moon. Snow on the trees was made with a white marker.

Het linkerdeel van de kaart gemaskerd met het geknipte masker. Lichtjes gesponst met distress Mowed Lawn en Salty Ocean. Met de golflijn-masker en de bladeren-template op zijn plek sponste ik dezelfde kleuren nogmaals. Daarna de bloemen en de tekst gestempeld.

I masked the left hand side of the card with my hand-cut mask. I sponged lighty with distress Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean. With the wavy mask and the leaves template in place I sponged the same colours again. I finished with stamping the fowers and the text.

New stamps!

Art Journey heeft weer een nieuwe stempel-set uitgebracht: stoere laarzen en bijpassende tekst. Ze heten Ben's Boots, en dat zijn het ook, de laarzen van Ben. Hiermee maakte ik onderstaande tags.

Art Journey's released a new stamp set: worker's boots and a matchting text. They are called Ben's Boots, and that is exactly what they are. I made two tags with these stamps.

Er lagen nog twee identieke gelli print tags in mijn la en die waren zeer geschikt voor mijn tags. Ik stempelde en plakte erop en zette de randen van het boekpapier aan met zwarte en bruine aquarelpotlood.

There were two identical gelli printed tags in my stash and they were a perfect start for my tags. I stamped on them and glued piece of book paper and edged the torn edges of the book pages with black and brown watercolour pencil.
