PaperArtsy: Eclectica flowers

Dag twee van mijn serie kaarten voor Bianca's Toko. Fijn dat je er bent. Gisteren heb ik kaarten met robots laten zien, vandaag is het tijd voor bloemen.

It is day two of my series of cards I made for Bianca's Toko. Nice of you to drop by. Yesterday I showed you some cards wih robots. Today it's ime for flowers.

Vandaag weer twee voorbeeldkaarten met nieuwe PaperArtsy stempels, deze keer van de serie Eclectia: ELB26, ontworpen door Lin Brown. Prachtige bloemen, die zich prima lenen voor wat mixed media werk.

Today again some cards with new PaperArtsy stamps, this time from the Eclectica series: ELB26, designed by Lin Brown. Gorgeous flowers, great for some mixed media work.

Op de achtergrond zie je distress inkt, boekpapier, een taartrandje en een bontgekleurd stukje keukenpapier, waarmee al veel kleurtjes inkt zijn opgeveegd. Zo zie je: alles is bruikbaar!

The background is made with distress inks, book paper, a doily and a rainbow coloured piece of kitchen paper, used to mop up many inks. Never waste anything, all can be used again!

Bovenstaande kaart is een stuk eenvoudiger: een paar kleurtjes brusho en wat water zorgden voor de achtergrond. Daaroverheen met diverse kleuren groen de bladeren gestempeld. De struik onderaan is de onderzijde van de bloem, maar dan omgekeerd. Zeer veelzijdig!

The card above was a lot easier to make: a few colours of brusho and some water made the background. On top I stamped the leaves in various greens. The bush at the bottom of the card is the lower part of the flower turned up side down. So versatile!

Ook deze kaarten zijn te zien bij Bianca's Toko op het Art Specially Event komend weekend in Nijkerk.

PaperArtsy: Jofy 44

De komende dagen laat ik elke dag een aantal kaarten zien die ik heb gemaakt voor Bianca's Toko. De kaarten zijn allemaal te zien in haar stand op de Art Specially stempelevent in Nijkerk komend weekend. Zij heeft de gebruikte stempels ook te koop natuurlijk.

In the next three days I am going to show you some cards I made for Bianca's Toko. The cards will be on display in her stand at the Art Specially stamping Event in Nijkerk (NL), this weekend.

Ik maakte een tweetal voorbeeld-kaarten met de leuke nieuwe Jofy-stempels van PaperArtsy: Robotjes! Zo leuk om mee te mogen werken!

I made two cards with the new Jofy stamps from PaperArtsy: Robots! They are so nice to work with and really cute!

Voor deze kaart stempelde ik de robot en de boutjes met zwarte Stazon. Daarna legde ik er een stencil over (TWC) en sponsde ik met grijze distress inkt (Pumice Stone). Met grijs potlood schaduwde ik lichtjes de tandwielen voor wat meer diepte. Het hoofd en het lijfje apart gestempeld, gekleurd, uitgeknipt en opgeplakt, met een paar wiebeloogjes.

I stamped the robot and the bolts with black Stazon. I layed a stencil over it (TWC) and sponged with Pumice Stone distress ink. I made some shadow around the gears with grey pencil to give some more depth. I stamped the robot again, coloured head and body, cut them out and glued them on the stamped image. I added wobbly eyes for a fun effect.

De volgende kaart was iets meer werk om te maken:
My next card took some more time to make:

Ik plakte dun aluminiumtape op cardstock en embosste dat met twee verschillende folders. Zwarte gesso en Rust Paper (Viva) gaven het verweerde uiterlijk. Ook op de gestanste tandwielen (uit zwart cardstock) en de tekstreepjes kwam Rusty Paper.
Het robotje is ingekleurd met mijn heerlijke Inktense Potloden en de achtergrond is lichtjes gesponsd.

I added aluminumtape to cardstock and used two different embossing folders on it. Black gesso and Rusty Paper (Viva) gave it the worn look. I used the Rusty Paper also on the black die cut gears and the text strips.
The robot was coloured with my favourite Inkense pencils and the background is lightly sponged.

AJC #68: Versier een enveloppe

April is al weer 5 dagen oud en de eerste bijdragen voor de ArtJourney-challenge zijn al weer gemaakt. Hartstikke leuk! Het thema deze maand is: versier een eneloppe. Hieronder mijn voorbeelden om jullie te inspireren om ook mee te doen:

April is 5 days old and the first entries for the Art Journey challenge have been uploaded already. Great! The theme this month is: decorate an envelope. Below are my envelopes to inspire you to take part.

Voor deze enveloppe gebruikte ik twee cirkelstencils, distress inkt en de kleine stempels van de nieuwe stempel "Dancing Flower".

For this envelope I used two circle stencils, distress ink and the small stamps from the new stamp "Dancing Flower".

Het is leuk om bij een kaart een bijpassende enveloppe te maken. De sleutels op de kaart komen hier terug op de enveloppe. Een klein beetje versierd, maar t geeft net een beetje extra voor de ontvanger van de kaart. (en voor de postbode :))

It is nice to make a matching envelope with a handmade card. The keys on the card are also on the envelope. Just a little decoration, but it is just that little extra that does is for the recipient of the card. (and for the mail man :))

Mini ladenkastje

In navolging van zovelen ben ook ik begonnen met het maken van "opdrachtkaartjes" voor het maken van mixed media projecten. De bedoeling is dat je een aantal kaartjes trekt en deze in volgorde afwerkt. Om mijn kaartjes te bewaren versierde ik een simpel kartonnen ladenkastje. Ik gebruikte papier, verf, stencils en stempels om mijn kastje te versieren.

I finally made a bunch of "technique prompts" (is that what they are called?) to use on my mixed media projects. The idea is that you take ten (or any number of) cards and do whatever it says on these cards. I decorated a simple cardboard mini drawer chest to keep my cards in. I used scraps of paper, paint, stencils and stamps to decorate it.

De kaartjes zijn dubbelzijdige gelli prints. Ik sneed ze op maat voor de laadjes. Aan één kant smeerde ik er een dun laagje witte gesso over en schreef de opdrachten er op.

The cards are double sided gelli prints, cut to size to fit in the little drawers. I added a thin layer of white gesso on one side and wrote down the prompts.

 For my english readers: on the cards above it reads "orange/pink", "doodle with a white marker", "add washi tape", "add a border around the page", "do the same as three cards back".

AJC #67: verjaardag/birthday

De Art Journey challenge van de maart maart staat in het teken van Verjaardag. Myra koos dit leuke thema. We nodigen je van harte uit om mee te doen en een leuke verjaardagsbijdrage te maken. Op het designteam blog kun je er alles over lezen, voorbeelden van de teamleden bekijken en je bijdrage uploaden.

This month's Art Journey challenge is all about birthdays. Myra chose this theme and we invite you to join our challenge and make something suitable for a birthday. On the design team blog you can read all about it, see the examples the team members made and upload your make.

Mijn verjaardagskaart kan worden uitgevouwen tot een doosje. Ik koos ervoor mijn doosje te vullen met heerlijke cupcakes. Altijd leuk voor een jarige!

My birthday card folds out into a little box. I chose to fill my box with delicious cup cakes. Always a nice treat for a birthday girl!

De basis van het doosjes is gemaakt uit een A5 kaart en past platgevouwen in een standaard C6 envelop. Hieronder kun je zien dat ik de tekst op de Dylusions-achtergrond heb gestempeld en met chloor de letters weer heb gebleekt.

The base for this box card is an A5 piece of card and it folds flat into a standard size envelope. Below you can see that I stamped onto the Dylusions background and bleached the text.

Mixed media steampunk style tag

Deze tag had ik een tijdje geleden al gemaakt. Met veel plezier heb ik een middag zitten spelen met inkt, verf, pasta, spuitinkt, metallic rub ons, stencils, stempels en stansen. Dit is het resultaat:
