Owls

Het is volop herfst, de spinnenwebben hangen in de tuin en om het huis en de bomen zijn (bijna) kaal. Deze tag past daarom prima bij dit jaargetijde, dacht ik zo.

De achtergrond is gemaakt met Color Burst (violet en oranje) en een spinnenweb-stencil. Daarna ietsje gesponsd met distress inkt.

It is mid autumn, the spider webs are massively present in our garden and outside the house, and the trees have lost (almost) all their leaves. This tag represents this time of year perfectly, I think.

The background is made with Color Burst (violet and orange) and a spider web stencil. I sponged a little distress ink on top.

Zelfs in dit digitale tijdperk is papier niet overbodig. Een memoblokje komt altijd van pas voor een paar snelle aantekeningen, de boodschappen of om zomaar wat tekenen ;). En wat is er leuker dan een decoratief exemplaar?

Even in this era of digital writing paper is still necessary. A little note block always comes in handy for some quick notes, the groceries list or just some doodling ;). And why have a boring one if you can make a decorative one?

Om het af te maken bestempelde ik ook de zijkanten.
To make the look complete I also stamped on the sides.

AJC #62 Black and white

Wat weer een leuke uitdaging deze maand bij Art Journey: black and white! Wij van het designteam zijn al aan de slag geweest om jullie van inspiratie te voorzien. Op het designteam blog zie je alle voorbeelden en kun je je eigen zwart-wit creatie plaatsen. Ook lees je daar de voorwaarden waaraan je moet voldoen om kans te maken op de tegoedbon.

Ik maakte een kaart en een bijpassende boekenlegger (ze zijn zo leuk om te maken, ik heb het helemaal te pakken na de vorige challenge, haha)

These are my makes: a card and a matching bookmark (they're so much fun to make, I am addicted after the previous challenge, lol)

De kleine stukjes die uit de stans komen, heb ik met allerlei verschillende Art Journey stempels bestempeld. Je ziet Newspaper and Fabric, Celebrate, Text, Clocks.

Voor de kaart sneed ik het witte vel op maat, bepaalde de plaats voor de stans en draaide deze door de Cuttlebug. Ik sponsde het rooster zwart en bestempelde de losse stukjes. Daarna plakte ik alles weer aan elkaar op zwart karton, de kaart is nu dus weer glad.

The small parts that come from the die cut were stamped with all kinds of Art Journey stamps. You can see I used: Newspaper and Fabric, Celebrate, Text, Clocks.

For the card I cut a white card to size, placed the die on the right spot and Cuttlebugged it. I sponged the waves with black ink and stamped all the small parts. After that I glued it all together again on black cardstock, making the card smooth again.

Voor de boekenlegger gebruikte ik dezelfde techniek, maar in een ander formaat.
The bookmark was made with the same technique, just a different size. 

 
De zwarte kaart heb ik met een eyelet aan de witte bevestigd, zoals je hieronder kunt zien.
I attached the black an white card with an eyelet together, as you can see below.

Sorry voor de slechte kwaliteit van de foto's. Mijn camera liet me in de steek, dus moest ik met mijn telefoon de foto's maken, maar het licht was niet optimaal. :( 

 I am sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, my camera didn't work, so I had to take pictures with my phone in poor light. :(

AJC #61: Boekenlegger

Ik maakte een setje van twee. Voor de eerste mistte ik eerst water door een stencil en daarna Color Burst op een voorgesneden boekenlegger van stempelpapier. De stencil was nu natuurlijk nat en vol met kleur, dus kiepte ik hem voorzichtig om op een andere voorgesneden boekenlegger. Nu had ik twee tegengestelde achtergronden, maar wel in dezelfde kleuren.

I made a set of two. For the first one I misted water through a stencil onto a bookmark I cut and then Colour Burst. The stencil was now wet and full of colour, so I carefully pressed the wet side down onto my second pre-cut bookmark. Now I had two different backgrounds, but with the same colours.

 

In een bijpassende kleur stempelde ik er de achtergrondtekst op, daarna de tekst "Imagine" en de zwarte bloemen.

In a matching colour I stamped the background text, and after that the text "Imagine" and the black flowers.

Op de tweede boekenlegger stempelde ik andere achtergrondtekst, andere voorgrondtekst en tandwielen in plaats van bloemen.

On the other bookmark I used a different background text, a different main word and sprockets instead of flowers.

Beide gemat op zwart en met een paar gekleurde draadjes er aan zijn ze prima bruikbaar in mijn boeken.

Both were glued onto black cardstock and had some colourful threads added, ready for use in my books.

Summer rocks

Tijdens onze vakantie in Engeland vonden we mooie ronde stenen op het strand. Perfect om op te stempelen. De stenen heb ik wit geschilderd, de stempels met Stazon op tissuepapier afgedrukt en rondom uitgescheurd. Met gel medium kun je dan bijna onzichtbaar de afdrukken opplakken.

During our summer holidays in England we found great rounded rocks on the Kent beaches. Perfect for 'stamping on". The rocks were painted white, the images stamped with Stazon on tissue paper and torn out. With gel medium you can glue them almost invisible onto the rocks.

Als je scheurt in plaats van knipt, kun je de randen bijna niet zien na het plakken. Je kunt heel dicht langs de randen scheuren door met een natte kwast een lijn rond de afbeelding te trekken en dan te scheuren.

If you tear instead of cut, the lines are almost invisible after gluing. You can tear very close to the image when you draw with a wet paintbrush around your image, then tear.
