Face

Voor een jarige buurvrouw (ze werd vijftig) maakte ik deze kaart. De achtergrond is geponst in twee kleuren. Daarna legde ik er een stencil op en sponste in dezelfde kleuren er bovenop. Daarna de bloemen en cijfers in dezelfde kleuren gestempeld en de zwarte afdrukken geplaastst.

For a neighbour who celebrated her 50th birthday I made this card. I sponged the background in two colours. I layed a stencil on top and sponged again with the same colours. I stamped the flowers and numbers also in the same colours and finally I stamped the black images.

Ik maakte er ook een zonder tekst. De tekst kan ik later eenvoudig toevoegen voor de juiste gelegenheid. Hier stempelde ik eerst het gezicht en daarna de bloemen, zodat ze geen bloemen midden op haar gezicht heeft. Al doende leert men, haha!

I made another one, this time without text. I can easily add the text later to match the occasion. On this one, I stamped the face first and the flowers later, so she doesn't have flowers on het face.

AJC # 53 Something old, something new

Dit is mijn bijdrage voor de nieuwe Art Journey-challenge. Willy koos het toepasselijke thema: Oud en Nieuw. Combineer een oude stempellap met een nieuwe.

This is my take on this month's challenge. Willy chose the theme: Old and New. This means: combine older stamps with a new one.

More little birds

De kleine meesjes uit een vorige blogpost (zie hier) hebben gezelschap gekregen van soortgenootjes. Deze keer op een achtergrond van gelato's. De meesjes zijn met carbonpapier overgetrokken op wit papier en daarna ingekleurd en uitgeknipt. Het nest is gemaakt van gebruikte theezakjes.

The little tits from a previous blogpost (here) have got company. This time on a background made with gelato's. The birds themselves were copied with copy paper onto white paper, coloured and cut out.The little nest was made from used tea bags.

Art Journey Challenge #52: Christmas

Myra mocht het thema kiezen voor de Art Journey Challenge en het werd: "Kerst", en zeg nou zelf, we maken toch allemaal (een deel van) onze kerstkaarten zelf? Dus dit is niet al te moeilijk. Voor deze challenge maakte ik deze kerstkaart als voorbeeld.

It was Myra's turn to think of a theme for the Art Journey Challenge and she choose "christmas". Very convenient, as we all make (part of) our christmas cards ourselves, don't we? So it shouldn't be too difficult. For this month's challenge I made this christmas card.

Bottles and bister

Met de leuke nieuwe "Vintage bottles" van Art Journey maakte ik onderstaande kaarten, helemaal geïnspireerd door het nieuwe Art Specially magazine, dat pas uit is. Daarin veel voorbeelden met bister.

With the new Art Journy stamps "Vintage bottles" I made these cards. I was really inspired by the dutch magazine Art Specially, which was released recently. It contains lots of great examples with bistre.

Ik stempelde eerst de afbeeldingen met Stazon Teal Blue, strooide daarna bister, mistte met water en kleurde daarna de (droge!) afbeeldingen met distress inkt Peacock Feathers. Tot slot nog een schaduwrandje met potlood rond de flessen en potjes toegevoegd.

First I stamped the images with Stazon Teal blue, put on the bistre, added water with a mini mister and coloured the (dried!) images with distress ink Peacock Feathers. With brown pencils I added some shadows around the bottles.

Door eerst te stempelen en daarna bister te strooien kon ik de afbeeldingen vrij laten van bister.

By stamping first and putting the bistre on later I was able to leave the images free of bistre.

Art Jourey Challenge #51: Fantasy

Alweer zo'n leuk challenge bij Art Journey, deze keer bedacht door Renje: Fantasy. Doe ook mee en leef je uit met ongewone stempelcombinaties en mooie kleuren. Op het designteam blog lees je er alles over en zie je mooie voorbeelden.

Ik maakte deze kaart met slechts twee stempels:
I made this card with only two stamps:

Het meisje met de bloem bestaat uit twee aparte stempels, maar is op één stuk papier gestempeld en uitgeknipt. Hieronder zie je stap voor stap hoe ik dat heb gedaan.

The girl with the flower has been constructed from two different stamps, but has been stamped on one piece of paper. Below you can see how I did this.

Ik beïnkte de stempel, maar zo weinig mogelijk de paraplu.
I inked up the stamp, but put as little as possible on the umbrella.

Ik stempelde het meisje nog eens op maskeerpapier en knipte haar uit, precies rond haar hand, zonder paraplu en plakte dat op mijn zwarte afbeelding
I stamped the girl again onto masking paper, fussy cut her and her hand without the umbrella and stuck that on the black stamped image.

Ik gebruikte mijn stempellineaal om de bloem in de juiste positie te stempelen en knipte het geheel uit.

I used my stamp positioner to stamp the flower exactly the way I wanted and cut it all out.

De kleuren die ik gebruikte zijn Squeezed Lemonade en Seedless Preserves distress inkt.
The colours I used are Squeezed Lemonade and Seedles Preserves distress ink.
